VFD

A Variable Frequency Drive is a motor control device that protects and controls the speed of AC induction motors. The VFD has the capacity to control ramp-up and ramp-down of the motor during start or stop, respectively. The most common uses of a VFD are for control of fans, pumps and compressors, and these applications account for 75% of all drives operating globally. As the application’s motor speed requirements change, the VFD can simply turn up or down the motor speed to meet the speed requirement.
